OutpostAI is NOT a substitute for emergency services. In any life-threatening emergency, contact emergency services immediately (911 in the US, or your local emergency number). Use satellite emergency beacons (SOS features) when available. OutpostAI provides informational assistance only and cannot dispatch rescue services, contact authorities, or provide real-time emergency response.
Welcome to OutpostAI. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of OutpostAI's satellite SMS-based AI assistance service (the "Service"). By using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Service Description
OutpostAI provides AI-powered informational assistance via SMS, designed to work with satellite communication devices and standard cellular networks. The Service offers general information on topics including but not limited to weather conditions, navigation, first aid guidance, aviation information, maritime safety, and wilderness survival.

Any medical, health, or first aid information provided by OutpostAI is for informational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of qualified health providers with questions regarding medical conditions. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information received from OutpostAI.
Aviation Information Disclaimer
Weather data, METAR/TAF information, and aviation guidance provided through OutpostAI is for supplemental informational purposes only. Pilots remain solely responsible for obtaining official weather briefings, NOTAMs, and making all flight decisions. OutpostAI does not replace FAA-approved weather sources or official flight planning tools.
Navigation Disclaimer
GPS coordinates, directions, and navigation assistance are provided for general reference only. Users are responsible for verifying all navigation information through appropriate charts, maps, and navigation equipment. OutpostAI is not responsible for errors in location data or navigation guidance.
3. No Guarantee of Accuracy
OutpostAI uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. While we strive for accuracy, AI systems can make mistakes. We do not guarantee that any information provided is accurate, complete, current, or suitable for your specific situation. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated responses may contain errors or inaccuracies
- Information may be outdated or not applicable to your location
- You are solely responsible for verifying critical information
- You use any information provided at your own risk
4. No Guarantee of Availability
While we target high availability, we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Factors outside our control include satellite network availability, carrier SMS delivery, device functionality, and geographic limitations. OutpostAI is not liable for any failure to deliver or delays in SMS messages.
5. User Responsibilities
By using OutpostAI, you agree to:
- Carry appropriate emergency communication devices (PLBs, satellite SOS beacons)
- Not rely solely on OutpostAI for emergency situations
- File flight plans, float plans, or trip itineraries as appropriate
- Maintain proper training and certifications for your activities
- Use the Service only for lawful purposes
- Provide accurate account information
6. Subscription and Payment
OutpostAI is offered as a monthly subscription service. By subscribing, you agree to:
- Pay the applicable subscription fee
- Automatic monthly billing until cancelled
- Standard carrier SMS rates may apply separately
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial months.
7. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUTPOSTAI AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOSS OF DATA, OR LOSS OF PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless OutpostAI from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.
9. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of the Service are owned by OutpostAI and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the Service.
10. Modifications to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may terminate your account at any time by canceling your subscription.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware.
